Welcome! The Chapel Hill International Folk Dance Club has been getting together to learn and enjoy international dancing since 1964. Despite our name, we’ve been dancing in Durham for decades just a block from Duke University’s East Campus.

We usually meet Wednesday nights from 7:00-10:00 p.m. at the Beth El Synagogue, Freedman Center, 1004 Watts St. (at W. Markham Ave.), Durham, NC 27701. We are open to the public and no partners are necessary. The cost/donation is normally $4.00 an evening (or $40.00 per trimester).

·         Aug 16 – We are dancing at the Living Arts Collective, 410 W. Geer St, Durham, NC. Parking behind the LAC, at the Durham County Cooperative Extension office at 721 Foster St, Durham, NC 27701, the gravel lot behind the Trosa building at approximately 312 W Geer St.

·         Sep 20th, 27th, Oct 4th, and Oct 11th – We are dancing at the Triangle Dance Studio, 2603 S. Miami Blvd., Durham, NC 27703 (near RTP). We are in the downstairs studio (front building). The complex is a little hard to spot if you have not been there before. Look at a map before you go to note the streets nearby.

Weekly teaching starts at around 8:00 p.m. with easy dances before that. A list of taught dances can be found here.

The Freedman Center is a Kosher facility. If you are bringing food, please follow these guidelines.
