History
For more than 50 years, since 1968, the Raleigh International Folk Dancers have been coming together to dance with enthusiasm and joy. Whether young or old, or simply young at heart, RIFD dancers are dedicated to learning and promoting dances from the different cultures around the world.
We meet every Friday night, year-round, at Glen Eden Pilot Park in Raleigh starting at around 6:30 pm and dance until about 10:00 pm Early in the evening we focus on teaching and doing easier dances. Later you'll often find us mixing in more intermediate and advanced dances. No matter what happens, we strive to create a diverse dance experience that we hope meets every dance appetite.
We are open to the public. No partners are necessary to participate. No dance experience is required (we'll give you that!). You are welcome to come sit and see what we're all about. We always like making new friends.
There is no charge for attending courtesy of Raleigh Parks and Recreation.
Give us a call or e-mail us. We'll be more than happy to answer any questions.
